Townsend River Walk & Arboretum Picnic Area
The Picnic Area of the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum was completed in June 2025 after a successful fund raising in April 2025.
The picnic area consists of a 8 ft. Double-sided ADA Accessible Picnic Table, 4 ft. Children's Picnic Table, Raised Bed Herb Garden, The Lazy River dry creek bed (rain runoff collector). Pollinator Garden, Carolina Silverbells, Blueberry Plants, Muscadine Grape Vines, Pollinator Garden, Bike Rack , Porta-loo, Bear-proof Trash Can and Dog Waste Bag Dispenser.

The Picnic Tables are available on a first-come basis and the sharing of the limited picnic table space is recommended. We ask that you pack out everything you packed in with and/or make use of the trash can for those items that are to be discarded.
