City of Townsend Maintenance Dept. Taking Down Mimosa that was Hanging Over the Highway
Second Mimosa Tree that was Leaning Toward the Highway on its Way Out!It takes a community effort to maintain a project like the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum. The City of Townsend Maintenance Dept. and Police help us in taking down two large invasive mimosa trees that were both leaning towards E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy. We have been planning to do this for weeks and when Jason from the Maintenance Dept. told me they could help today, I said I would be there in an hour. By the time I had gotten there two prongs of the first tree were already down and within the next half hour 2 additional trees had been taken out. We at Project TRWA can't thank them enough for helping on this and if you see them out working give them a little thanks. It really means a lot to us and to the community of Townsend.
