Children's Discovery Garden Phase 1Children's Discovery Garden Phase 1 is Underway!
Far left is a Black Bear carved and donated by Ron Holmes and to the right is a Teepee constructed by Rodney & Allison Pearson as well as a Children's discovery table cut out of white oak by Rodney Pearson.

The Children's Discovery Garden is well underway with this latest addition that goes with the storytelling area and faerie village.  The credit for this part of the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum (TRWA) go to Rodney and Allison Pearson.  They have been instrumental and working diligently in moving our plans forward for the Children's Discovery Garden.  The Table and Teepee have artifacts for children to do some discovery and maybe stop and have a snack or lunch.  Ron Holmes carved and donated this fantastic bear that just fits the theme of this part of the TRWA.  Ron carved the bear and his wife Suzie carved the base.  We can't thank Ron and Suzie enough for all their carvings that they have contributed to the TRWA.  Suzie has provided us a little something for our north kiosk that we hope to have finished in the next couple of weeks.  It is really special.

At this time we have also started on Phase 2 of the Children's Discovery Garden with the help of Gina Barnett.  Gina is digging up many plants in the current Pollinator Garden to be transplanted in the new Pollinator Garden and in the Fall Flower Garden.  This will be an ongoing task and once complete we will start laying out Phase 2 of the Children's Discovery Garden.

Stop by, enjoy the shade and enjoy the latest additions to the TRWA.
