Events Calendar
The water has finally subsided at the River Walk and we are ready to start cleaning up and there is a lot to clean up. We have had trees and tree branches fall, litter has accumulated and of course the invasives are on the move.
The invasive work effort will be concentrated on the area surrounding the Pollinator & Memorial Garden and the walkways throughout the River Walk. Privet and Honeysuckle as well as a sprinkling of English Ivy and a couple other invasives will be our targets. We will start severing vines that are growing up the tree trunks in order to halt their destruction of several trees.
Parts of Rt. 321 between Walland and Townsend are still down to one lane, so allow a little extra time to get there.
Make sure to bring boots!! It is still a bit soft in places, but has drained rather well.
What to Bring
Hoping to pull out as many invasives by the roots as possible. Bring your favorite removal instrument: Pick/Maddox, Shovel, Axe, Lopper, Digging Bar, saw.....
