Allison & Rodney Pearson are Honored at the renaming of the Children's Discovery Garden to the Allison and Rodney Pearson - Children's Discovery Garden!
Allison Realizing the Children's Discovery Garden was Renamed After Her and Rodney.
Wishing everyone a Happy Labor Day and hoping that you get to visit and enjoy the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum (TRWA) today.
For our Volunteers it is a labor of love working at the TRWA throughout the year. We get paid in Thanks and also the satisfaction that we are doing something really special for the City of Townsend and all those that visit the TRWA.
Two of our Volunteers, Allison and Rodney Pearson, have been a fixture at the TRWA for the last six years maintaining and expanding this Nature Learning Park. I have had the pleasure of working with these two, each of those years. I could not have asked for a more dedicated couple that has provided wonderful ideas, providing the building of many of the structures & gardens at the park, the constant maintenance and a big smile and a story for all those that visit while they are working.
One of the areas they have put incredible effort is the Children's Discovery Garden. What you see in that garden is comes straight from these two incredible individuals. To honor them we dedicated the Children's Discovery Garden to them on the same day we unveiled the Sensory Garden and Path. It is an honor that will live into the future and hopefully future generations will follow in their footprints.
On your next visit look out for these two and give them a big thanks for making the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum an adventure for the entire family!
