The Sensory Garden at the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum is Now Open!
What a fantastic day at the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum(TRWA) this past Friday. The opening of the Sensory Garden and path brought giant grins to the faces of the young ones that were the first to explore the: paths, with all their textures,; the sights and smells of the incredible array of plants; the sounds of the xylophone; and new friends they made.
We can't thank enough the volunteers of the TRWA (Allison, Rodney, Gina, Kay, Sandy, Ericka, Tally, Tod and Mark), those that generously donated to this project, and all the visitors that have made all of our projects so worthwhile. It is another piece of the TRWA becoming a premier nature learning park that brings young and old alike closer to nature in a fun and educational way.
Stop on by with the kids, have them take their shoes off, enter the portal and feel their feet on the unique path, explore the sights and smells of the flowers and plants, and have have a bit of fun with the xylophone and tic-tac-toe board.
