Enjoy the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum (TRWA) during the each of the four seasons.  There is something special for every season so don't miss out.

Winter

The starkness of winter allows you to see deep into the arboretum.  The Little River is easily seen this time of the year and provides a wonderful backdrop.  Moss, magnolias and a few other trees and plants provide shades of green even at the dreariest of times.  Winter starts showing some hints of Spring with Bloodroot, Spicebush, Violets, Daffodils and more start to awaken from their nap providing colorful patches throughout the TRWA.

Spring

As Mother Nature wakes up for Spring the River Walk starts to come alive. Spend some time looking for the many varieties of flowers and trees that produce some vibrant color against the Little River.

Summer

The shade of the trees along the TRWA during the summer months provide relief from the sun and provides a perfect opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Summer.

Fall

The crisp air returns to the Smokies and the trees put on a brilliant show.  There are still plenty of flowers such as asters and goldenrod. A peacefulness surrounds you as you walk through the TRWA with the sounds of the Little River more prevalent than the season before.
